PIPS Administrative Interns

On an as-needed basis, PIPS seeks students to serve as administrative interns. The position is unpaid and involves no more than 5 hours of work a week.

Administrative intern duties include:

  • Helping to organize the PIPS symposiums in Washington, D.C. and on campus
  • Interacting with members of the policy community in support of PIPS programming
  • Participating in PIPS site visits to international relations related organizations
  • Conducting research on security-related policy issues for the PIPS Directors and, occassionally, a research team
  • Maintaining the PIPS website
  • Conducting outreach to the on-campus and off-campus communities

PIPS is looking for applicants with the following qualities:

  • Excellent time management skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Detail-oriented
  • W&M van certification (preferred, but not required)
  • Experience editing websites, especially using Cascade (preferred, but not required)
  • Strong research skills
  • Demonstrated interest in international relations
  • Minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA
